The art of Matcha tasting
Matcha has a lot of positive effects.
Matcha is stimulating and invigorating, but at the same time the tea also has a calming character. The taste of Matcha is pleasant, mild, at the same time intensive and highly aromatic.
You could describe Matcha as the espresso among teas. The tea bowl is never fully filled to top with water but only up to 2 finger’s beneath the brim. Anyone who tries to foam Matcha by him or herself will immediately start to feel the fascination of the Japanese tea ceremony. Imagine the pleasant sound of the bamboo which finely whisks the tea and the aroma that slowly rises and awakens your senses.
Matcha is reminiscent of many things but first and foremost it brings back memories of freshness, purity and clarity. To taste Matcha in full awareness means entering a new level of taste experience. Allow yourself to experience new aromas, impressions and effects. It is said that if you want to understand the taste of Matcha you need to drink three cups. The first cup opens the world to the origin of the tea. The second cup tempts you to think, dream and philosophize. Only with the third cup does the connoisseur learn to classify, retrieve and re-evaluate the exquisite taste.
Matcha is always dark green and juicy. It tastes sweet and has a pleasant aftertaste. If you ever happen to see a yellow, bitter tea then don’t touch it because it is most likely not Matcha…
