AIYA timeline

Aiya has produced Japan’s best and finest teas for 121 years. It started in1888 when Aijiro Sugita started to produce Matcha and Gyokuro teas in one of the world’s oldest tea growing areas. Aiya has now been making tea in Nishio for four generations and today Aiya tea is available worldwide.

Our premium brand “aiya – THE TEA” has been developed especially for the European market. With the introduction of “aiya – THE TEA” to the German market on June 3rd 2009 we opened a new chapter in the history of Aiya.
