AIYA and nature: In the early 1970’s, Yoshio Sugita, Aiya’s president had the vision of growing Japan’s best quality organically grown teas.

Long before the term ‘organic’ became fashionable, Sugita gathered Japan’s best tea farmers and started the first organic production of Matcha tea in Japan.
